Capricorn. The green drape top on Capricorn doesn't quite do it for me somehow, but I like the shorts and the shoulders out there.
Aquarius' skirt had that really nice touch of a gradient below with the shocking green of the top.
Pisces' top isn't terribly flattering to her hips, but at the same time, I like the fitted skirt underneath that does prove she has a figure underneath.
Taurus. I like how you've been doing these subtle nods to each Zodiac's representation too. The Spanish matador/flamenco look is very sleek and the frills on her shoulders paired with her posturing give her a very sultry air.
Gemini's outfits here are quite nice and simply lovely. The duality and differences are such nice touches. They're similar but different. The left has a shoulder piece while the other is strapless but has a beautifully draping overskirt.
Cancer's top with the boning that gives it that cool look of a crab's exoskeleton, but the pants just don't mesh with the entire outfit. Without the orange drape on it, it would look a lot better, I think, but that's just personal opinion. Without it, maybe orange accents elsewhere in small details on the pants instead. It would be more flattering and it wouldn't force the eyeline down to her feet.
For Leo, I'd like to see more of the outfit. All that can be seen is the skirt and the scarf, but other than that, I can't see much. The bright colors are very nice, but it's hard to judge from just the side.
Virgo is so perfect. Modest and beautiful. The length of the skirts with that shorter black slip peeking out is a really great example of coloring again. And that necktie/collar combo is absolutely adorable. Very elegant and innocent yet also very inviting.
Libra's coloring and stripes are a great mixture. I love the partially detached sleeves and the coordinating but opposing match of tones. The nod to the sign of its symmetry is a nice touch as well.
Scorpio, I am in love with these sharp tones. The black, the yellow lining, and that vibrant purple shirt. It pulls the sights up but is just close enough to let the eye continue across the rest of the outfit.
Sagittarius. Something about the pants on her just looks off. I like the concept and yet at the same time, it's quite confusing. It draws the eye down to her legs again and pulls away the adorable dress above and any details above those black swathes across her thighs.
As an overall note, I love how all the figures aren't just standing either. I heard a phrase once that describes it perfectly: they're verbs, not nouns. As in, they're moving, they have action and motion to them, not just motionless staring and posing. Even the hair has action and 'emotion', so to speak, Sagittarius being a prime example of it.
Another side note, the colors just stun me with your attention to little details and nuances. For the strong signs, the colors are vivid and striking and for the softer signs, they're more muted but still strikingly lovely.
Third sidenote, I love the figures. Real figures. Not just sticks, but they have curves and a womanly form. It's quite nice to see.
All that said and critique aside for a moment, I would wear my sign (Scorpio) so freaking hard. Even the boots. Unfortunately, when I pawed desperately at my screen for that jacket, it simply refused to materialize itself. On the plus side, I have learned that my screen is not as stable on its base as I thought.
I am so happy with this batch you have no idea CdCblanc. Not only is this a great example of your improvement since your original Zodiac illustration, but they also show a maturity and playfulness that even professionals lack in their collections.
In fact I REALLY want to see collections based on each sign because every design in this set is just screaming to be expanded upon.
My fav is Virgo, i just love that damn skirt and collar. I want that dress so bad it hurts.
I am also in love with the shoulder details on a few of these designs, very reminiscent of McQueen
The only things I'm not to hot on are...
Aries: I feel like I've seen this concept before, maybe if the corset was expanded upon further?
Cancer: Those genie pants just do nothing for me, but that could be my personal taste
Libra: I love the design but the colors remind me of the golden girls just a bit.
Sagittarius: that black fabric on her legs just throws me off. Is it a skirt? Is it leggings? It walks the line between costume and high fashion.
But other than those four lil things I find this whole set to be completely delectable! Once again thank you for sharing with DA. You have quickly become one of my fav designers among the DA community.
